Huntly and District pipe band are committed to promoting piping and drumming in the area for young and old. If you are interested in Scottish traditional music and pipe music in particular and want to learn the skills of piping and drumming or want to renew your acquaintance with piping please contact the band secretary. The cost of a lesson is currently £5.
Bagpipes

Our main piping tutor is Richard Anderson who tutors in the Stewarts Hall on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Richard attained his teaching qualification from the College of Piping, Glasgow in 1991. He was until recently Pipe Major of the 2622 Highland Squadron Pipe Band, RAF Regiment at RAF Lossiemouth. The Pipe Major monitors the progress of all the beginners and decides when they are ready for the band.
Drums

Our leading drummer Sandy Milne manages the drum corps and also teaches beginners. Teaching takes place in the Stewarts Hall on Tuesday nights from 7.30 pm onwards. Ron Hastie will teach anybody who is interested in learning tenor drums on Tuesday evening in the Stewarts Hall Huntly.
